Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

Here’s a refreshing and delicious way to cool off in the summer heat! Better than soft-serve ice cream any day! And since there’s no sugar, who says dessert can’t be the main dish?!

Whiz in a blender:

3 frozen very ripe bananas

¾ cup unsweetened soymilk or almond milk

2 Tbsp cocoa powder (dark chocolate)

1 Tbsp PB2 (peanut butter powder)

1 teaspoon vanilla

Blend everything except the bananas. Add the frozen bananas and whiz again until smooth. The consistency will be like soft ice cream. This needs a strong blender, like a Vitamix. If you don’t have a blender like that, just increase the milk. It will be more of a milkshake consistency but it will still be delicious.

Tip: Add 2 tablespoons of sprouted brown rice protein powder to provide a total of 26 grams protein. It’s a meal and not a snack, though. With the protein powder, it has 445 healthy calories. (Without the powder it has 365 calories and 10 grams protein.) Don’t want that many calories? It makes a large serving - there’s plenty to share with a friend.
